HJCS Church Musical "King David" Director's Story

 

 

 

Hello!

On December 25, 2023,

the musical "King David" was presented

at Hyoja Chun Sung Church.

 

 

 

 

The 'Promise Musical Team'

of Hyoja Chun Sung Church is

comprised of passionate and

visionary believers

who love God.

 

 

 

Anyone, regardless of age or gender,

with a passion and a dream towards

God, has the opportunities

to take the stage.

 

 

 

The director of the Promise Musical

at Hyoja Chun Sung Church is

Pastor Park Seon Beom.

 

 

 

Every church members are 

responsible for writing script, guiding acting,

making props, designing stage, lighting, composing and arranging music,

making costumes, etc.,

 

the director plays a central role

in raising degree of completion of the musical.

 

 

 

 

In the final rehearsal scene,

 

he delicately directed the hand movements of each child 

who are in children's minister named 'HappyKids'

by paying attention to every detail.

shares the story of "King David"

 

 

the only person is praised by God as "a man after His own heart" among the numerous figures in the Bible. David's life is described with great variety, from his anointing by Prophet Samuel to the victorious battle against Goliath.

 

Despite the challenges, including a decade of fleeing from Saul's chase and numerous battles, David ruled over Judah for 7 years and 6 months, followed by 33 years over all of Israel, totaling about 40 years as a king.

 

David's constant praise to God, "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not be in want, " resonates throughout his life, even in moments of repentance, such as the incident with Bathsheba.

 

The musical "King David" portrays the true king, who, whether as a young shepherd, in the cave of Adullam, or as the king of Israel, attributed glory to only the true God, seeking refuge and praying. It clearly conveys how we should live before God in this era.

 

Through this musical, the hope is expressed for everyone to become like David, pleasing to the heart of God, and all glory is only given to God.
